Literature Text

It seemed I had gotten used to your face,
So I decided to offer you all of time and space.
Every planet and every star,
The only question was where you want to start.

Sailing away in a box of blue,
Always an awful lot of running to do.
I set no limit as to where we could go,
Making sure to shout "Allons-y!", or "Geronimo!"

But those days are over. Not for you, but for me.
It seems I've seen all the things I'm to see.
Finding myself on the wrong side of a blaster,
Belonging to Cybermen, Daleks, or the Master.

Now I know what comes next, to you, might seem strange,
But my body is dying, and I'm going to change.
And now the coming of a golden glow,
Signals it's finally time to go.

But wipe that frown off your face, this isn't the end!
You were my companion, my mate, my friend.
I can't thank you enough, so please don't cry,
Because you were just brilliant! And you know what? So was I.
A Doctor Who poem.
