Fireworks

When you’re a child,
Explosions are just so thrilling.
They’re loud,
And bright.
And they release huge amounts of energy,
Energy that then fills us up and excites us.  
And then the sky,
That big blue beautiful sky,
The ultimate frontier looming over us since the dawn of time.
There’s energy there.
And potential,
We found so much potential.

And then the sky,
That big
thing
that’s just always there.
Exploded.
The whole thing exploded.
It exploded in pink’s and red’s and green’s and blue’s.
It took my whole world with it too,
And like that brilliant sky,
I’ve never been brighter.
